Simple and rapid cleaning of graphenes with a ‘bubble-free’ electrochemical treatment

We report a simple and fast bubble-free electrochemical (EC) treatment to clean single-layer graphenes (SLGs) that become doped during their transfer. Using sweeping voltages with a Ag/AgCl reference electrode, the treatment removes polymer and etchant residues, recovering the graphene’s intrinsic electrical properties. This method promises to enhance the fabrication of reliable and transparent SLGs for advanced electronic devices.
