[Scientific Journal cover] Thick Electrodes: Alternative-Ultrathin Assembling of Exfoliated Manganese Dioxide and Nitrogen-Doped Carbon Layers for High-Mass-Loading Supercapacitors with Outstanding Capacitance and Impressive Rate Capability (Adv. Funct. Mater. 17/2021)

Scientific Journal cover

In article number 2009632, Bong Gill Choi and colleagues present a novel approach for assembling ultrathin MnO2 and nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets to create high-performance supercapacitors. The heterostructured, interlayer-expanded design of the MnO2/carbon electrode allows for rapid and efficient electron and ion transfer, even in thick electrodes. As a result, the MnO2/carbon electrode demonstrates excellent electrochemical performance, boasting ultrahigh mass loading of 19.7 mg cm−2, high capacitance, superior rate capability, and significant energy density.-Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens
