[Scientific Journal cover design] A Pearl Spectrometer

Scientific Journal cover design

Information recovery from incomplete measurements is crucial in classical and quantum signal processing. Traditional methods using random and sparse sampling with nanophotonic and light scattering approaches often require high-precision nanofabrications and bulky equipment. A new approach using light transport through an Anderson-localized medium offers a simpler solution. Inspired by the reflective properties of pearls, this method uses the spatial and spectral intensity fluctuations from strong light localization to extract spectral information. This pearl-inspired technique provides a compact and thin alternative for spectral information processing by combining digital and physical properties at the material level. -Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens
