Do Hwan Kim, Dukhyun Choi, and their team have introduced a mechanosensitive polymer ion pump and a kinematic architecture to enhance the design of ionic triboelectric nanogenerators (iTENGs). The visco-poroelastic ion pump significantly boosts the output of iTENGs by establishing an electrical double layer. Additionally, a kinematic architecture, integrating a gear and a cam with the iTENG, converts irregular low frequencies into a targeted high working frequency, optimizing performance. -Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens
