Woong Kim and co-workers have developed an innovative biomimetic strategy to visualize UV light based on its wavelength. By using a nanopattern of three types of down-shifting materials, they mimic the trichromacy of human vision, which is derived from three kinds of cone cells. This approach enables the emission of various colors depending on the wavelength of the incident UV light. This advancement holds significant potential for the development of diverse optical devices.-Journal cover design by scapiens
