[Science Journal Cover design] LRR domain of NLRX1 protein delivery by dNP2 inhibits T cell functions and alleviates autoimmune encephalomyelitis

Science Journal Cover design

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, progressive demyelinating inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS), primarily caused by the uncontrolled activation of myelin antigen-specific T cells. Due to the difficulty in delivering drugs efficiently into the CNS to control tissue inflammation, MS has high unmet medical needs. This study demonstrates that a fusion protein combining NOD-like receptor family member X1 (NLRX1) with a blood-brain barrier (BBB)-permeable peptide, dNP2, can ameliorate experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a model for MS.-Journal cover design by scapiens
