Hydrothermally synthesized homogeneous structures based on nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), and sulfur (S) on nickel metal foam cathodes (NiMoSs) have been electrochemically characterized. The NiMoS-containing cell exhibited a significantly higher specific capacity of 1534 A s g−1 compared to an FeS2 cathode, thanks to its homogeneous structure. This remarkable performance highlights its potential for thermal battery applications. -Journal cover picture by scapiens
