Yongtaek Hong and his team have developed highly reliable and stretchable liquid-metal-solid-metal contacts using a single-walled carbon nanotube diffusion barrier formed on a corrugated silver nanoparticle thin film. The chemical inertness and mechanical robustness of the carbon nanotube structure prevent liquid metal from penetrating other metals even under mechanical deformation. – Journal cover design by scapiens
