[Journal cover design.66]Epidermal Electronics: Calcium-Modified Silk as a Biocompatible and Strong Adhesive for Epidermal Electronics

Journal cover

Hyunjoo J. Lee and co-workers have developed a calcium-modified silk fibroin film that serves as a strong adhesive for next-generation epidermal electronics. This modified silk film boasts viscoelastic properties, allowing it to mechanically interlock a sensor and the skin surface up to 20 times stronger than commercial alternatives. Additionally, it exhibits excellent biocompatibility, reusability, stretchability, and conductivity, making it highly promising for widespread application in wearable technology. – Journal cover design by scapiens
