[Journal cover design.65]Organic Photodetectors: Ultraflexible Near-Infrared Organic Photodetectors for Conformal Photoplethysmogram Sensors

Journal cover

Takao Someya and co-workers have developed ultraflexible near-infrared organic photodetectors that combine high-speed light responsivity with an incredibly small bending radius (r = 3 μm). These photodetectors maintain stable operation even under severe mechanical deformation, making them suitable for attachment to curved or folded parts of human skin. With this ultrathin photodetector, they demonstrated a fingerprint-conformal photoplethysmogram sensor, showcasing its potential for advanced wearable technology. -Journal cover design by scapiens.
