Electrospinning: Electrospinning Nanofiber on an Insulating Surface with a Patterned Functional Electrolyte Electrode

Geon Hwee Kim, Taechang An, Geunbae Lim, and their team have advanced the electrospinning technique by using a patterned functional electrolyte as a collector. This method allows for the local patterning of aligned nanofibers regardless of the collector’s thickness. By using an adhesion promoter between the nanofibers and the substrate, they achieve superior adhesion performance. This technique shows promise for creating scaffolds that control cell orientation, contributing to future tissue engineering advancements.
