Metasurfaces have traditionally been 2D metamaterials used to manipulate light. In article number 2005454, Shu Yang and co-workers elevate this technology to 3D by photoengraving various metasurfaces onto different facets of monolithic, 3D microstructured arrays in a high-throughput and on-demand manner. By patterning locally confined metasurfaces on a cube, each cube functions as a multiplexing pixel for color reflection and filtering.-Science Journal cover design by scapiens
