Porous NH3 adsorbents often struggle with insufficient NH3 uptake, low NH3 affinity at low pressure, and poor chemical stability in wet conditions. In their research, C. S. Hong and colleagues showcase a Mg-based metal–organic framework material with a high density of open Lewis metal sites along one-dimensional hexagonal channels. This material exhibits record-high NH3 capacities at both very low and high pressures and demonstrates remarkable structural stability even in wet NH3 conditions.
