[Scientific Journal cover picture] Tunable SIM: observation at varying spatiotemporal resolutions across the FOV

Scientific Journal cover picture

Traditional imaging systems are designed to provide even spatiotemporal resolution across the field of view (FOV), which limits their ability to observe varying dynamics simultaneously in different parts of the FOV. To capture fast dynamics in a small area, the entire system’s sampling rate must increase, compromising spatial resolution in other parts. To address this challenge, we propose tunable SIM, an innovative technology that allows adaptive modulation of spatiotemporally varying structured illumination across different parts of the FOV. This enables simultaneous measurements of subdiffraction-limited changes in the actin fine structure of U87MG-EGFP-CD9 cells and the fast viscous flow causing these structural changes.-Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens
