Kun Na and co-workers have developed photosensitizer-labeled human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs-DPP) that can specifically recognize and migrate towards cancerous tissues. Upon light irradiation over the cancerous area, these hMSCs are destroyed by reactive oxygen species. This process also results in the secretion of various cytokines, leading to the accumulation of T cells, NK cells, and APC cells within the tumors, effectively treating the cancer. -Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens.
