[Scientific journal cover.98]An efficient amplification strategy for N-doped NiCo2O4 with oxygen vacancies and partial Ni/Co-nitrides as a dual-function electrode for both supercapatteries and hydrogen electrocatalysis

Scientific journal cover

To achieve high-performance energy storage and conversion, it is essential to design and synthesize electrodes with abundant active sites. Our research introduces an effective strategy for nitrogen doping in NiCo2O4 (NCO) nanowire arrays using NH3 plasma treatment. This method results in N-doped NCO with oxygen vacancies, nitrogen atoms, nickel/cobalt nitrides, and a high concentration of Ni2+ and Co2+, enhancing electrical conductivity. Consequently, N-doped NCO electrodes exhibit excellent electrochemical performance for supercapacitors and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalysis in KOH electrolyte. This innovative approach offers a promising pathway for developing advanced electrodes. – Scientific Journal cover design by scapiens
