Jin Kon Kim and his team have pioneered a novel method using roll-to-roll thermal nanoimprinting to fabricate a high-density array of various shaped polymeric nanostructures on a large area flexible substrate. The key to their success is a hybrid mold made of an anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) template chemically bonded to a flexible poly(dimethylsiloxane) plate. This breakthrough is significant for the advancement of next-generation nanoimprint lithography, enabling the production of hierarchical nanostructures on flexible substrates. -Journal cover design by scapiens
