Sang-Woo Kim and his team have developed a large-scale, high-performance piezoelectric nanogenerator based on MoS2 nanosheets. By passivating sulfur vacancies, which cause a screening effect of piezoelectric polarization charges, they significantly enhance the piezoelectric properties of MoS2. The sulfur-treatment process effectively fills these vacancies with sulfur atoms, resulting in a dramatic improvement in piezoelectric performance compared to untreated MoS2. / Journal cover design by scapiens
