Min-Seok Jang, Hyungjun Kim, and their team propose gold-based halide perovskites as a lead-free and stable material for very-thin-film perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Multiscale simulations reveal that this material has ideal optical properties for PSCs. This innovative work is expected to drive further research towards realizing PSCs based on mixed-valence perovskites.
