Piezoelectric Nanoparticles: Piezoelectric Performance of Cubic-Phase BaTiO3 Nanoparticles Vertically Aligned via Electric Field

Kwang Ho Kim and his team have developed an easy electrical orientation method for cubic-phase BaTiO3 nanoparticles. By applying an electric field, these nanoparticles transform into a pseudo-cubic crystal structure with off-centered Ti+4 ions, vertically aligned for high piezoelectric performance. This method, detailed in article number 1700133, promises enhanced piezoelectric properties.
